Tina

We have a large lake "Lake McConaughy" about 15 miles away.

In Nebraska
Every winter from the end of dec. through Jan, we get to see the bald eagles at the viewing station.

It is amazing to see theses birds up close and personal.

The beauty and grace is just amazing, I love going out there :)

Herd of white deer roams Argonne campus

Near my house in Illinois

Born a creamy tan with white spots, the deer become
White after reaching their first year. Bucks’ antlers are
“palmated” - wide and flat like those of moose - and are
Shed each April or May. The bucks stand about four feet
High at the shoulder. Bucks can use their antlers as a
Slashing weapon, but fights between males are mostly
Shoving matches in which the deer lower their heads
And lock antlers. The Argonne Fire Department has
Been called out to separate bucks with hopelessly
Locked headgear.
Except for the mating season, the bucks and does
Maintain separate groupings. Sometimes large groups
May be seen at one time in a clearing,  usually in the
Early morning.

In Australia where I live

All female kangaroos have front-opening pouches that contain four teats. This is where the ‘joey’, or young kangaroo, is raised until it can survive outside the pouch.Kangaroos of all sizes have one thing in common, powerful back legs with long feet. They hop on their strong
back legs. A kangaroo’s tail is used to balance while hopping and as a fifth limb when moving slowly.
Male kangaroos are called Bucks. Female kangaroos are called does. Babies are called Joeys.
They keep cool by resting in the heat of the day.
They pant like a dog
The word 'kangaroo' is from the Aboriginal word (of the Guugu Yiidhirr language) 'gungurru'
for the grey kangaroo.

Cathie

The Eastern Gray Squirrel

The gray squirrel is seen always in my area. It's the only wildlife I've seen right here near me.
Their body length is between nine and twelve inches (23 to 30 cm) and the tail is between 7.5 and merely ten inches(19to25cm). They weigh between 14 and 21 ounces(400 to 600 grams).
They are normally gray with a whitish under belly.
Gray squirrels are scatter-hoarders. They hoard their food in many different caches. They also do have excellent memories on where their caches are.
They build nests which are called Dreys.Dreys are made of leaves and twigs and Spanish. moss when it's available. They also may build nests in attic or exterior walls of a home or building.
They usually breed twice a year producing two to six young each time.
Squirrels very very rarely have rabies and there has never been a case of a squirrel causing rabies to a human in the United States.
