I start to fill in the outline pixel by pixel than I flood fill in with solid color.

 Go to the magic wand

Point to where you want to do your effect.

 Have the ants going around each section to create your effect..

After completing the three steps above

I go into Effects for this one I picked brush stroke effect.

Adjust to desired likeness

Finished Bird House
